Did you know that kitchen sponges are considered a “dream home” for bacteria?
Sanitas is aware of it and, as the kitchen expert, stands by your side to educate you on how often you should change your kitchen sponge.
According to research, sponges are among the most germ-infested items of a household. Due to extensive moisture and food trapping inside of a sponge, they can contain as many as 5,4 billion bacteria per cubic centimetre. Over 362 different species of bacteria have been found in sponges such as Salmonella, E.coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
The best prevention against bacteria is to replace your sponge frequently, since the above tips delay but do not inhibit the growth of bacteria.
