Prepare smoothies in single portions using food bags and ice cube bags
Cooking
Problem
You enjoy recipes with fruit or vegetables, such as smoothies, but you would like to have them ready when you most need them. It's not always easy to have the fruits you need or the time for preparation. As a result, you tend to leave them out of your diet.
Solution
The easiest way to cut down on time spent in the kitchen is to prepare some meals in advance. If you like making smoothies, you can use food bags and ice cube bags to prepare pre-measured smoothie portions for the freezer, like this:
Cut fresh fruit and vegetables (after parboiling them) in small pieces and freeze them arranged on a baking sheet.
Mix up the frozen products and place them in food bags as individual portions.
Put yoghurt or plant-based milk in ice cube bags and freeze them. Once they are frozen, divide up the ice cubes among the food bags.
You can add some flaxseed, spices (cinnamon, turmeric), slices of ginger, pollen, spirulina, cocoa powder, tahini, peanut butter, chia seeds and more.
Once you have prepared the portions, seal the food bags and freeze until you are ready to enjoy your smoothie. The portions can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.
To make your smoothie, empty the contents directly into the blender and add 1 cup of water or milk or plant-based milk or coconut water.
